Virginia Bell Freeman

Mrs. Virginia Bell Freeman, 88, of Albany, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at her home. The funeral mass will be conducted at 11:30 A.M., Friday, October 2, 2015 at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Father Paulinus Okpala will officiate with interment to follow at 2:00 P.M. at Andersonville National Cemetery. Born January 16, 1927 in Altoona, PA., Mrs. Freeman was the daughter of the late John and Marie Verdres Bell. She was a registered nurse for the Air Force and then Navy for eight years. Upon closure of the Navy Hospital, she worked for several years and retired in 1987 as a civil service employee at the Marine Base. She had lived in Albany since 1960, when her husband was stationed here with the United States Marine Corps. She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Albany. Survivors include her three daughters, Joan Dupre of Albany, Judith Smith of Ft. Walton Beach, FL. and Joyce Moye and husband, Jeff Moye of Leesburg; grandchildren, Robert Dupre and Cassie, John Dupre and Kathryn, Carlos Eribez, Megan Childress and Jeff, Brandon Smith and Jake Moye; 3 great-grandchildren, Braden, Mikaela and Jeffrey. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Horace Freeman and her grandson, Justin Moye. The family will receive friends 30 minutes before the mass at St. Teresa's Catholic Church.
