Baconton

TSgt. John Stanley Neeld, USAF (Ret.), 91, of Baconton, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at his home, while surrounded by his beloved family. 

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2025, in the Cedars of Lebanon Cemetery, in Inglis, FL with Pastor Noah Phillips officiating. Military Honors will be presented. 

Born on December 21, 1933, in Inglis, FL, Mr. Neeld was the son of the late Louis and Lucille Moody Neeld. After graduating from High School, Mr. Neeld enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served our country overseas in Vietnam, The Philippines, and in Germany. He had many years of faithful and devoted service to his country that allowed him to see the world and serve all over the United States with his family until his retirement. During his time living in his hometown, he had the privilege of serving his community as the mayor of Inglis, FL. He and his wife worked for several years in ministry and devoted their lives to the cause of Christ. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, and hunting. Most of all, Mr. Neeld loved The Lord, his family, and his country in which he served. He was a devoted member of Bethel Holiness Tabernacle of Putney for many years. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 69 years, Mary Ann Neeld; his son, Shane Neeld and Penny of Baconton; grandchildren, Jeremy Shane Neeld and Melissa of Lee County, Aaron Tyler Neeld and Chelsa of Baconton, and Clayton Seth Neeld and Taylor of Lake Park; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Neeld, Lilly Neeld, and two precious ones on the way in July; siblings, Herbert Oscar Neeld and Jean , Gilbert Roger Neeld, Euverla Newman, and Magdaline Estelle Hawthorne.
