Tommy Gene Johnson, Sr.

Mr. Tommy Gene Johnson, Sr., 68, of Lee County, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at Willson Hospice House. A celebration of life will be conducted at 11 AM, Saturday, July 16, 2016 in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home, 375 US HWY 19 S. Leesburg, GA. 31763. Rev. Chris E. Turner will officiate. Tommy was born on December 28, 1947 in Camilla, GA., He worked tirelessly for many years as owner of Tommy Johnson Painting Contractor. He truly loved his work and will always be remembered as a loving provider for his family. Tommy enjoyed going to the mountains and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his loving wife, Beverly Farr Johnson of Lee County; children, Tommy Gene Johnson, Jr. of Warner Robins, Jeffery Todd Johnson of Sylvester and William Brent Johnson of Baconton; step son, William David Cooper (Priscilla) of Leesburg and step-daughter, Carolyn Parker (Mike) of Leesburg; grandchildren, Emily, Taylor, Peyton, Austin, Kalvin, Dillion and Julian; sisters, Patricia Nathan of Illinois and Anna Kuhbander of Florida; brothers, Ralph S. Griffith and Hardy P. Griffith both of Albany. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Sara R. Haberman and his brother, John W. Griffith.
