Mr. Thomas “Tommy” Edward Dean, 64, of Leesburg, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at his home while surrounded by his family.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2023, in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Dick Gill will officiate, and the family will visit with friends following the service.
Born November 28, 1958, in Dawson, Mr. Dean was the son of the late Sheriff Gerald “Jerry” W. Dean and Verlene Hobbs Dean of Terrell County. In his younger years he worked as a farmer in Terrell County and had worked as a correctional officer at Lee State Prison. He was an excellent electrician and worked with several electrical companies in the area including Dean Electric of Leesburg. He enjoyed collecting coins and was very talented at drawing. Tommy was known as a hard-working man who loved his family more than anything. He was of the Christian faith and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Luttrell Dean that passed away on January 12, 2022, and brother, Gerald “Mike” Dean.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Brian Dean and Gena of Leesburg; Brad Dean and Bobbie “B.J.” of Leesburg, and Zack Tribulak and Kymm of Poulan; stepchildren, Jessica Wills and Joey, and Josh Burnett and Lori all of Albany; his sister, Pamela Hughes and Roy of Leesburg; 11 grandchildren, Chris, Blake, Chandler, Taylor, Trent, Tara, Olivia, Willa, Savannah, Caydee, and Aryia; 9 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Retha Dean; several nieces, and nephews.
