Thomas Mayberry

February 8, 1970 — October 20, 2023

Mr. Thomas Mayberry, 53, of Albany, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Hope City United with Pastor Michael Cherry officiating. Thomas loved fun shirts and in celebrating his life, the family has requested that all in attendance wear shorts and bright, fun, or Hawaiian styled shirts in his memory.

Born February 8, 1970, in Avon Park, Florida, he was the son of the late Dennis and Linda Mayberry. Thomas grew up as the son of a Marine and was able to see the world and live in many different places including Okinawa and Cuba. He was a tech guy through and through and enjoyed working on computers and different technology. He was currently employed at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany where he worked civil service. In his free time, he loved to read but most importantly he loved spending time with his family and being a wonderful dad and “Papa.” He was known for always making others laugh and could make the funniest impressions. Thomas loved the Lord with all his heart and was an active member of Hope City United where he served on the dream team as a welcome member and hosted a weekly city group. A beloved husband, father, papa, brother, and friend, he will be greatly missed by all.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, June Moon Mayberry of Albany; children, Hailey Mayberry, Tommy Mayberry, Kaitlyn Mayberry, Lacey Powell (Chris), Doug Williams (Ashley), Jackie Shaffer (Stephen), and Neil Williams; grandchildren, Noah, Uriah, Lilah, Jax, Maverick, Skyler, Tayler, Dakota, Matthew, Jethro, and Caspian; brother, Rudy Mayberry (Kelli), aunt, Shirley Wilson; cousin, Deneen Murphy, and a host of extended family and friends that loved him dearly.

In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to Hope City United Church.
