Mr. Thomas A. Baker, 89, of Leesburg, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024.


Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the funeral. Rev. Chris E. Turner will officiate.


Born on March 28, 1934, in Glennville, GA, Mr. Baker was the son of the late Rufus K. Baker and Pauline Sheffield Baker. He was an aircraft tech painter and vocational tech instructor. Mr. Baker enjoyed working with small engines, fishing, going to yard sales and flea markets. He attended Lighthouse Ministries of Putney.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Baker and his son David Edwin Baker.


Survivors include his children, Kenny Baker of Albany, Kathy Brinson and Stan of Shellman, and Tim Baker of Putney; stepdaughter, Teena Foster and Gordon of Jacksonville, FL; stepson, Rick McMillian and Brenda of Albany; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the mother of his children and former wife, Nancy Baker.
