Mr. Sam Linwood Baker, 81, of Leesburg, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025.
A memorial service honoring his life will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Bass officiating.
Born September 14, 1943, in New Zion, SC, he was the son of the late Charlie Hampton Baker and Clara Hodge Baker. Mr. Baker proudly served our country in the United States Air Force and later went to work as a correctional officer which he did for many years until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending his time raising hogs, hunting, and fishing. He was a strong man who could always make you laugh and loved his family dearly. A beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Little Jimmy Fallin; his brother David Baker; and two sisters, Louise Baker and Dianna Pearson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his two sons, Carl Fallin of Leesburg and Jimmy Fallin (Pam) of Leary; daughter, Kaye Robertson (William) of Leesburg; two grandchildren, Linwood Robertson (Regina) and Todd Robertson; great grandchildren, Will, Gage, Sarah, James, Graceleigh, and Alyssa; three sisters, Julie Speer, Sally Berry, and Phillis Cox (John); his fur baby, Scooter; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home was given the honor to serve Mr. Baker’s family.
