Ronald L. “Ronny” Akins

Mr. Ronald L. “Ronny” Akins, 73, of Leesburg, peacefully passed away on Thursday morning, July 22, 2021, at his home while surrounded by his loving family. Born October 7, 1947, at home in Leesburg, Mr. Akins was the son of the late James W. Akins and Lucy Hartley Akins. He worked as an electrician for many years, enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was Baptist by faith and loved karaoke. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Debbie Dias Akins of Leesburg; children, Shannon Akins and Tonya Akins both of Albany, and Tony Akins and Brittany of Leesburg; sisters, Dina Tonn and Chuck of Leesburg, Ruby Strickland and Curtis of Leesburg, Emily Drawdy of Albany; brother, Kenneth Akins and Cathy of Leesburg; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Senn; grandson, Michael Senn; great-grandson, Dakota Matthews; brothers, John, Bill, and Jimmy Akins; sisters, Mamie Webb, and Nina Atkins. Services honoring the life of Ronald will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Philema Road Baptist Church, 114 Stocks Dairy Rd. Leesburg, GA 31763. His cousin, Rev.
