Ronald Clayton Moree, Sr.

August 25, 1938 — September 5, 2023

Ronald Clayton Moree, Sr. 85, of Leesburg peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at his home while surrounded by his beloved family.


Ronald Clayton Moree was born in Pelham, Georgia in August of 1938. He was the youngest of Earl and Dollie Moree’s 10 children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Thelma (RH) Dismuke, A.G. Moree, Russell (Nita) Moree, Edgar (Marie) Moree, Edna (Mac) McDonald, Nancy (Val) Gabaldon, Earlene (Bud) Greene, Faye (Frank) Shoupe, and Donald Moree.


At a young age, his family studied the Bible and grew in knowledge of the scriptures. On December 13th, 1953, Ronny was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He served as an Elder for more than 55 years. He had the pleasure of teaching the Bible to multiple people over the years. To many, he was a father figure and treated them as family.


Ronny was never afraid of hard work. As a young man of 17, he left home to serve at the worldwide headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses in New York. He lived there for several years before returning home and meeting Barbara Richter from Rose Hill, just outside of Moultrie Georgia. They married in August 1960 and had 3 children. Clay Moree (Candy) of Leesburg, Kim Leblanc of Leesburg, and Matt Moree (Stacy) of Newnan. 8 Grandchildren, Brooke Shanley (Matt), Blake Leblanc (Taylor), Katie Lewis (Joel), Alexa Moree, Michael Greene, Andrew Moree, Samantha Moree, and Evan Moree. 5 great-grandchildren, Tucker, Bennett and Claire Shanley, Cameron Leblanc and Ollie Gamble. In addition, he leaves numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by many Brothers and Sisters of the Christian congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.


Ronny was a successful entrepreneur who had a well-respected business in Albany. He was known to be trustworthy, to look out for his customers, and to go the extra mile.


He enjoyed playing golf with his family and friends. He was a great golfer and even shot lower than his age several times. He had multiple holes in one.


Ronny will be missed and irreplaceable to those who knew and loved him. Ronny did have the hope that if he were to die he would live again. This promises he learned from the Scriptures found in the Bible.


His celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses: 808 Liberty Expressway SE Albany GA 31705 Zoom; 726 784 1755 Password: 174572
