Robert Spencer Pryor, Jr.

Mr. Robert Spencer Pryor, Jr., 72, of DeSoto, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2025.

A graveside service honoring his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, in the DeSoto Cemetery. The family will visit with friends following the service at Leslie Community Church, 111 E. Allen Street, Leslie, GA 31764.

Born November 24, 1952, in Americus, he was the son of the late Robert Spencer Pryor Sr. and Rachel Hines Pryor. He proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps and after his time in the military he took over the management and co-ownership of the family farm, Pryor Farms. Spence was a skilled marksman and was passionate about the outdoors. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying as much time as possible fishing, hunting, and entertaining friends, family, and his boys in those legendary adventures. He was a champion horseman who won numerous awards and spent the years of his youth showing and competing. Spence was a member of Leslie Community Church formerly Leslie United Methodist Church and was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, who will be greatly missed by all.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Robert Marshall Pryor and his niece, Rachel Tara Titshaw.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Spence Pryor (Lissa) of Atlanta, Charles Pryor (Becky) of Americus, Oliver Pryor (Katie) of Athens, Robert Pryor (Kayla) of Leslie, and Aaron Pryor (Nadine), of Hubert, N.C.; sisters, Claire Peeples of Cordele, and Cindy Pryor of Americus; 11 grandchildren, Olivia, Madeleine, Thomas, Miller Anne, Shep, Rebecca, Mary, Oliver, Anne, Dallas, and Tristan; and a host of extended family members, cousins, and friends that loved him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leslie Community Church, P. O. Box 116, Leslie, GA 31764 in memory of Robert Spencer Pryor, Jr.
