Robert (Bob) Bruce Kelley, 69, of Albany, Georgia, died Monday, February 8, 2021, at his home. Bob was born June 12, 1951, in Pago Pago, American Samoa, to Daniel Shinkle Kelley and Ora Faye (Stradley) Kelley, while Daniel was stationed in Pago Pago in the Navy. Bob, his Mother, and sister all returned to the states by ship shortly after his birth. Bob spent most of his childhood in San Diego, California. He attended Oak Park Elementary School and Horace Mann Junior High School. Bob moved with his family to Albany, Georgia, in 1966, where Bob graduated from Albany High School in 1969. After graduation Bob entered the United States Navy serving as a radio operator. Bob served in the Vietnam War, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star. After his discharge from the Navy, Bob returned to Albany, Georgia. Bob was employed in the finance business in and around Albany until he retired. While living in Albany, Bob joined the Catholic Church and was a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. As a child, Bob enjoyed family trips to the beach and the mountains with family friends, and trips to both Springfield, Missouri, and Hood River, Oregon to visit relatives. As an adult, Bob enjoyed sports and traveled several times to Florida to watch spring practices. He loved his Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves! Bob loved his family and enjoyed his trips to visit them. He enjoyed bragging about all his great nieces and nephews. He was looking forward to eventually moving to Wisconsin to be near them. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Alice Iverson and husband Greg of Hudson, Wisconsin, his niece Amy Jaynes and husband Tim of Hudson, his nephews Jacob Iverson and wife Betsy of New York City, New York, and Nicholas Iverson and wife Hitomi of Waunakee, Wisconsin, and his eight great nieces and nephews. Bob will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Bob was a supporter of St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. His family requests that any memorials in his name be made to St. Jude.
