Raquel Davila O'Connor

Mrs. Raquel Davila O'Connor, 78, of Leesburg, peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Willson Hospice House in Albany. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018 in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home, 375 US Highway 19 S. Leesburg, GA 31763. Rev. Mike Lawson will officiate with interment to follow at Andersonville National Cemetery. Raquel Davila O’Connor was born on January 23, 1940 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico to the late Jose Davila and Rogelia Lopez. Mrs. O’Connor was a loving and devoted military wife, mother, and grandmother to her four children and eight grandchildren. Mrs. O’Connor cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren, found comfort in reading the Bible and attending church, and especially enjoyed traveling, shopping, dressing up, and listening to Spanish music. She attended Life Church in Leesburg. Nanny, as she was dearly referred to by all her grandchildren, was a beautiful woman and a beautiful wife. Mrs. O’Connor is survived by her husband, John Patrick O’Connor of Leesburg; four children, Ann Peacock (Keith) of Leesburg, Rachael Brock (Joe) of Albany, John O’Connor (Jin) of South Korea and Edward O’Connor (Jamie) of McGehee, Arkansas; and her eight grandchildren, Rachael Morrison (Sean), Erik Sandal, Anna Laine Brock, Collin O’Connor, Keith Peacock, Natalie Brock, Mason O’Connor and Sean O’Connor. She will be dearly missed. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at 132 Cuaneta Dr. Leesburg, GA 31763.
