Ralph Truman Jackson, Sr.

Mr. Ralph Truman Jackson, Sr., 87, of Leesburg passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 25, 2016 in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home in Leesburg with Rev. Ken Chancellor officiating. Entombment will follow at Crown Hill Mausoleum. Mr. Jackson was born on June 7, 1928 in Calhoun County. He was the founding owner and hearing instrument specialist for Ralph Jackson Hearing Aid Service, Inc. for over 35 years. Working with his sons, Ralph Jr. and Frank, together they made a difference in the quality of life of countless individuals “breaking the sound barrier.” A faithful member of Lakeside Baptist Church, Mr. Jackson was a member of the men’s Sunday school class and had been a member of The Civitan Club of Albany. Survivors include his wife, Ruth E. Jackson of Leesburg; son and daughter-in-law, Ralph T. Jackson, Jr. and Catherine of Leesburg, GA; three step-daughters, Janice Wester and her husband, Ronnie of Lee County, Donna Murphy of Leesburg and Melodie Lane and her husband, Mark of Albany; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to his father, Mr. Jackson and his mother, Julia Melton Jackson, Mr. Ralph Truman Jackson, Sr. was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Rountree Jackson; son, Frank O. Jackson, brother, Lamar Jackson and sister, Marian Reeves. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home, 375 US Highway 19 S.
