Peter Gerald Atwood

Mr. Peter Gerald Atwood, 76, of Leesburg, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at his home. Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Atwood will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 18, 2016 in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home in Leesburg. Rev. Jason Spears will officiate with interment to follow at Leesburg Cemetery. Born November 16, 1939 in Gloucester, Massachusetts, Mr. Atwood was the son of the late Stephen and Doris Margaret Atwood. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was retired from Miller Brewer. He enjoyed working out at Tony’s Gym and loved playing golf. Mr. Atwood was raised in the Catholic Church where he was an altar boy and always tried to live a good life. His favorite saying and what he always lived by was, “There but the grace of God Go I.” Survivors include his daughters, Tracy Atwood of Leesburg and Stacy Atwood of Atlanta; brothers, Ronnie Atwood of Orlando, FL and Dave Atwood of Canada; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
