Patsy Ann Nutt

Miss Patsy Ann Nutt, 82, received her Heavenly reward on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from Pruitt Health Palmyra. Born on July 12, 1935 in Plains, GA to Ruth Harrison and Barkley Nutt, Miss Nutt spent her childhood years in Buena Vista, GA and graduated from Marion High School in 1953. After earning a B.A. degree from Mercer University in 1958, Miss Nutt moved to Albany and began a teaching career in middle school. In 1970, Miss Nutt earned a M.Ed from Auburn University. After a teaching career that spanned 30 years in the Dougherty County School System, as a social studies/science teacher and guidance counselor, Miss Nutt retired in 1988 from Merry Acres Middle School, Albany, GA. On her “off time” Miss Nutt was very active on the campaign trail for George Busbee’s election. An avid reader, Patsy was an author of poetry and children’s stories, and Bible study teacher. Never was she rich nor attained celebrity status, but she had a heart for God and her fellow man. She attended Albany Grace Church of The Nazarene. Survivors include her loving friends and caregivers, Carey and Annlies Cato of Lee County and faithful friends, Jane Hill and Debbi Weldon both of Albany.
