Patricia Mclendon Hughes

Mrs. Patricia Kay McLendon Hughes, 76, of Leesburg, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at her home while surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Byne Memorial Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior. Her son, Rev. Brad Hughes and Pastor Mark Jackson will officiate with interment to follow in The Leesburg Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Hughes, Dylan Hughes, Jonathan Hughes, David Wilson, Jamie Wilson, and Greg Hughes.

Born September 3, 1947, in Miller County, Mrs. Hughes was the daughter of the late Joe Tom McLendon and Rebecca Loyless McLendon. She was a Christian lady who proudly served as a pastor’s wife for many years. She loved Jesus and her beloved family most of all. She enjoyed cooking and really did enjoy cleaning, keeping her home clean always. Her family could always expect a spread at the dinner table that was made with much love. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend she will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her siblings, David, Melton, Binton, Carol, Dot, and Joe.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 57 years, Rev. Frank Hughes of Leesburg; sons, Tommy Hughes and Cindy of Leesburg, and Rev. Brad Hughes and Holly of Ashburn; brother, Hinton McLendon and Reba of Albany; sister, Brenda Wilson and David of Ft. Gaines; 4 grandchildren, Brandon Hughes and Alli, Dylan Hughes and Tiffany, Jonathan Hughes and Tiffany, and Rebekah Hughes; and 1 great-grandchild, Parker Hughes.
