Miguel C. Carrillo

Mr. Miguel C. Carrillo, 87, of Leesburg, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

A funeral service honoring his life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Hodges officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest beside his wife in the Leesburg Cemetery.

Born May 20, 1936, in Toledo, Mexico, he was the son of the late Fortunato Carrillo and Maria de Jesus Carrillo. At the age of 16 Miguel immigrated to the United States to provide a better life for his family. He was a skilled welder and carpenter who passed those skills down to his children and grandchildren. He lived a merchant way of life and was always interested in buying, selling, and trading items. As the oldest of 8 children, Miguel was always looking out for his family, making sure everyone had what they needed, and was a father figure to many. He was highly respected by his family and will be remembered for his strong work ethic and instilling those values in his children. A loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Juana Felix Carrillo; infant daughter, Elvira Carrillo; and his brother, Jose Carrillo.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Noe Carrillo and Carmela, Angel Carrillo and Mayela, Mauro Carrillo and Maria, Rodolfo Carrillo and Geronima, Adelita Castaneda and Isaias, Hector Miguel Carrillo, Fortunato Carrillo and Virginia, and Rogelio "Roy" Carrillo and Maria Eugenia; siblings, Espedita, Socorro, Cruz, Jesus, Fortunato, and Manuel; 23 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
