January 11, 1972 — November 12, 2022

Michael “Mike” Lawrence Giese, 50, of Lee County, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at home.

A memorial service honoring his life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2022, in the Chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home.

Mike was born January 11, 1972, in Postville, Iowa to Larry and Karel Kurth Giese. He spent many years working as an HVAC technician. When he was able, he enjoyed playing darts, doing jigsaw puzzles, and he absolutely loved traveling. He was a huge sports fan and enjoyed cheering on his teams, Florida State, the Dallas Cowboys, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Out of all the teams he enjoyed, his favorite by far was watching his son John play underneath the Friday night lights for the Lee County Trojans. He was a proud father and loved his children dearly. Mike will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Giese.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Meghan Giese; children, Laci Giese and John Giese; mother, Karel Giese; sister, Tammie Clark her husband David and their daughter Alyssa; and brother, Brian Giese and his daughters Zoey and Katarina all of Lee County; as well as a host of extended family.

Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home was given the honor to serve the Giese family.
