Megan Freeman Whitehead

Megan Freeman Whitehead, 33, of Leesburg, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Stone officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in the Leesburg Cemetery.

Megan was born November 9, 1990, in Albany and attended Lee County schools where she enjoyed running track. As a young girl she loved doing gymnastics and was on the skate team at Stardust. Megan was currently employed at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in the staffing department and previously worked as a CNA in labor and delivery. She loved the Lord dearly and attended Hope City United Church. A loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Kearstin, Olivia, and Cooper Whitehead; her mother, Hyla Royal of Leesburg; father, Brent Freeman of Louisville, KY; maternal grandfather, Phillip Spring and Paula of Albany; brothers, Trey Clements of Cordele, Brendan Freeman of Tallahassee, FL, and Brenton Freeman of Idaho; sisters, Ally Smith of Leesburg, Layken Dean of Leesburg, and Brianna Siroki of Louisville, KY; and a host of extended family and friends that loved her dearly.
