Medford Johnson

Mr. Medford Johnson, 82, of Leesburg, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, April 28, 2022. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022, at Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home, in Leesburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home. His two sons-in-law, Matthew Harrell and Donnie Eubanks will officiate. Following the service, Mr. Johnson will be laid to rest beside his wife at Baker Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Moultrie at 2:00 p.m. Born July 11, 1939, in Baconton, Mr. Johnson was the son of the late Robert Ross and Ethel Lee Turner Johnson. He was a member of The Church of God and attended Life Church of Leesburg until his health declined. He worked for many years at Firestone and retired from Classic printing. He enjoyed leading music at church and teaching children to play guitar. His love for God and his family was most important to him. The family takes great comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his precious bride and will see them again in Heaven. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Clara Mae Johnson; and his siblings, Calvin Johnson, William Johnson, Curtis Johnson, Thomas "Tommy" Johnson, Geneva Brown Jenkins, and Eugene Johnson Sr. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Jerry and Vickie Johnson of Leesburg, Jackie and Rebecca Johnson of Nashville, TN, Elaine and Matthew Harrell of Leesburg, Richie and Shanna Johnson of Tifton, and Trina and Donnie Eubanks of Moultrie; 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Huey Johnson and Sara of Sylvester, Felton Johnson and LaFaye, and Richard Johnson all of Albany. The family will be gathered at 201 Springlake Drive in Leesburg for those who wish to visit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideons International at P.O.
