Mary Kathleen Fuhrmeister

Mary Kathleen Fuhrmeister, age 90 years, peacefully passed away on December 25, 2020, with family at her bedside. Memorial services will be held in Barstow CA on Friday February 5, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Kathleen was born in St. Louis MO to the late John Nally and Elsie Pieper Nally. Kathleen had one sister, the late Elizabeth Nally Barley. She proudly served our country in the United Stated Navy for two years. She later went on to work at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Barstow CA and retired in 1990. Kathleen was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Mount St. Joseph Catholic School, where she logged numerous volunteer hours teaching religion, serving on the Church Council, the Parent Teacher Group, and with her family, each summer, painted the playground equipment, and enjoyed interacting with the students by serving school lunches. Many friends and family members describe Kathleen as a very caring and giving person, she always put others first. Her free time was spent reading anything regarding US History and creating ceramics for others and displayed many pieces in her home. After retirement Kathleen often took her grandchildren to her mountain retreat in the Sequoia’s. Her grandchildren remember her letting them go white-water rafting in the Kern River when they were just 11 years old - oh the adventures they can share. When she moved to Georgia, she was blessed with two more great grandchildren whom she cuddled with while reading to them, which she enjoyed. Family members who preceded Kathleen in death are her parents, John Nally and Elsie Pieper, her sister Elizabeth Nally Barley and son-in-law Robert Tabet. Her survivors are her four children, Patti Marie Stuart Nelson of Bullhead City, AZ, John Michael Stuart (Donna) of Barstow, CA, Barbara Lynn Fuhrmeister Tabet of Fort Mohave, AZ ,and Mary Theresa Fuhrmeister Peralta (Lorenzo) of Leesburg, GA. Seven grandchildren, Christopher Nelson, Jessica Nelson of Clarksville, TN, Marti Michelle Stuart Pistor, Timothy Michael Stuart of Barstow, CA, Richard Frank Fuhrmeister of Fort Mohave, AZ, Beth Peralta-Reed (Liz) of Washington D.C. and Anthony F Peralta (Kristin) of Leesburg, GA. Five great grandchildren, Dawson Pistor, Dayna Pistor of Barstow CA, Michelle Elizabeth Fink of Barstow CA, Corbin Anthony Peralta and Josie Evelyn Peralta of Leesburg GA.
