Marilyn L. Akridge

Mrs. Marilyn L. Akridge, of Leesburg, passed away on August 9, 2021. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2021, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Copron officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday August 11, 2021, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in the Leesburg Cemetery. She was born September 21, 1942, in Macon, to the late Charlie Wood and Mattie Elizabeth Etheridge. Mrs. Akridge worked for many years at Coats & Clark and later stayed home caring for her family. She was a member of Grace City Church and more than anything, she loved the Lord and her family. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend she will be greatly missed by all. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two daughters, Donna Renee Rigsby and Pamela Faye Akridge; granddaughter, Megan Potter; and twin sister, Carolyn Joyce Jones. Survivors include her beloved husband Ray Akridge of Leesburg; 4 children, Lynn Fowler and Jamie of Leesburg, Grant Akridge of Leesburg, Tina Potter and Gerald of Leesburg, and Mike Akridge of Sylvester; 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
