Lucy Marian "Nell" Johns

Mrs. Lucy Marian “Nell” Johns, 76, of Sylvester, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024.

The family will host a memorial service honoring her life at a later date.

Nell was born November 5, 1947, to the late Gus and Louise Abbott. She worked as a waitress for many years and eventually opened her own restaurant called Nell’s Kitchen. After she retired, she spent her years as a loving homemaker. Nell loved being outdoors whether it was working in her garden or going fishing, she enjoyed the beauty of God’s nature. She was passionate about cooking and was known for her homemade jellies, jams, and biscuits. She was affectionately known as “granny” and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. When she wasn’t cooking or gardening, she could be found sewing. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two children, Steve Dobbins and Lori Webb; grandson, Christopher Lehman; and her sister, Leila McMillian.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Ruth Cochran; grandchildren, Taylor Lewis and Andrew Webb; siblings, Betty Abbott, Beverly Manders, and Barnie Abbott; and her great grandchildren, Levi, Wyatt, and Colton.

Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home was given the honor to serve Nell’s family.
