Mrs. Louise Patton Warren, 96, of Leesburg and formerly of Americus, peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at her daughter's home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at First Baptist of Americus with Rev. Keith Parks officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
Born December 23, 1925, in Sumter County she was the daughter of the late James Curtis Patton and Clide Wilkerson Patton. Mrs. Warren attended Americus public schools throughout her younger years and later went to work for Manhattan Shirt Company where she retired after 42 years as a talented seamstress. She was an active member of the local Union of Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America, the legislative process, and the ACWA Georgia joint board. She also served as a member of the Manhattan Retirees Club as well as a member of Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center auxiliary for 26 years where she served as a pink lady and volunteered over 4,000 hours of service. Mrs. Warren joined First Baptist Church Americus in 1948 and stayed active in numerous church events throughout her 74-year membership. She was a true southern woman who enjoyed reading, loved the Lord dearly, and more than anything enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer T. Warren; four brothers, three sisters, and her infant grandson, David Stanley Watts.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Elaine Warren Watts (Butch) of Leesburg; son, Charles P. Warren (Nancy) of Atlanta; two granddaughters, Kelli Watts Hooper (Carter) of Asheville, NC and Kristi Watts Gage (Aaron) of Decatur; two grandsons, Wilson Warren and Ross Warren (Cara) of Atlanta; two great grandsons, Hayden Hooper of Asheville, NC and Warren Gage of Decatur; two great granddaughters, Anna Marie Gage of Decatur and Hadleigh Hooper of Asheville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends that loved her dearly.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church Americus or League of the Good Samaritan at Magnolia Manor in Americus.
