Leonard Duwain Rankin

Mr. Leonard Duwain Rankin, 66, of Albany, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Bethel Holiness Church, 4621 Radium Springs Rd. Albany, GA 31705. Pastor Noah Phillips and Rev. Russell Paine will officiate with military honors following. Interment will be on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Andersonville National Cemetery. Born December 16, 1951 in Olton, TX, Mr. Rankin proudly served his country and retired from the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman first class. He attended Bethel Holiness Church and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Rankin was preceded in death by his daughter, Marisa Cowart. Survivors include his wife, Debra Rankin; parents, Donald Rankin and Barbara McKnight; children, Tara Karnes of St. Louis Missouri, Nicole (Michael) Rue of Austell, Aubrey Nolan of Mississippi, William Nolan of Vermont, Rev. Russell (Katie) Paine of Albany, Christopher (Alayna) Paine of Augusta and Austin Rankin of Austell; siblings, Donna, Paula, Carroll, Connie, Terry, Zane, Barry and Diane; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, it was the desire of Mr. Rankin that memorial contributions be made to the children’s ministries of Bethel Holiness Church, because his heart was for the children, PO Box 446, Putney, GA 31782.
