Larry Vernon Morris

Mr. Larry Vernon Morris, 75, of Lee County, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 10, 2023, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home. Pastor Matthew Schluckebier will officiate, and interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, in Dawson. The family will visit with friends one hour before the service at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Born May 1, 1948, in Cuthbert, Mr. Morris was the son of the late Owen B. Morris and Ruby Mae Hufstetler Morris. Larry graduated in 1966 from Randolph High School as class president and was captain of the football team. He faithfully served his country in The United States Air Force. Mr. Morris worked in management in food delivery for several years and was known as a wonderful provider for his family. Family was always most dear to him, and his children can always remember being able to go to him for good solid advice. If Larry was cutting up with you then you knew he liked you and he loved to make others laugh. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He attended Life Church of Leesburg and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Chaplain Brenda Ramsey Morris of Lee County; sons, Barry Morris of Lee County, and David Morris and Michelle of Albany; 5 grandchildren, Alex, Michael, Jacob, Kaylynn, and Natalie; and 6 great-grandchildren, James, Hugo, Lucy, Lily, Allistor, and Elizabeth; his mother-in-law, Rev. Flora Ramsey; brothers-in-law, John Allen Ramsey and Julie of Lee County and Timothy Mark Ramsey of Albany; and a host of extended family and friends who loved him dearly.
