Julia Ann Golcher Adair, of Albany, GA, peacefully passed away at her home on Saturday, July 24, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Services will be private for the family only. Julia Ann Golcher Adair was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Julius Golcher and Mary (Fox) Golcher. Graduating from Olney High School in 1954, Julia went on to complete secretarial school. While working at Smith, Kline and French in Philadelphia Julia met her eventual husband Robert Adair, who worked there as a chemist. After completing a tour in the Army, Robert and Julia married on June 20, 1959. Julia volunteered for several years at school and church as her two daughters were growing up. She also enjoyed serving as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for years. Julia particularly enjoyed her position as an executive secretary at the prestigious Quaker boarding institution George School. In her later years, Julia volunteered with her husband Robert for the CARIE organization, educating seniors on the benefits available to them, and tutoring at-risk children for the Bensalem public schools. Though she weathered both Multiple Myeloma and Alzheimer’s Disease in her final year, she retained a strong spirit and sense of humor. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sarah (Golcher) Kuntz, and her sister Nancy (Golcher) Douthwaite. Julia is survived by her husband Robert, her daughters Kimberly Burnette (Mark), Lynn Adair, her grandchildren Kenneth Robinson (Crystal), Keith Robinson, Kristen Moore (Douglas), and her great-grandchildren Brian Robinson, Landon Robinson, and Jackson Moore. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.josephwjones.com. Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home of Leesburg, GA has been given the honor to serve the Adair family.
