Jerry Houston Jenkins

Mr. Jerry Houston Jenkins, 76, of Leesburg, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020. Born December 13, 1943, Mr. Jenkins grew up in Ft. Myers, Florida. He proudly served our country in The United States Army and after his honorable discharge moved to Leesburg in the early 70’s where he was a manager with Oak Hill Farm Dairy in Leesburg. He was a hardworking man who loved his family more than anything including his dog, Lu Lu. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawton Jenkins and Ruth Prince; son, Michael E. Byrd and brother, Clifford Jenkins. Survivors include his children, Adam Jenkins (Aron) of Leesburg, Michelle Spence (Marcus) of Leesburg, Michael S. Jenkins of Ft. Myers, Lisa Wilson of North Carolina and David Byrd (Penny) of Leesburg; two sisters, Arlene Greenwell and Delores Nestler both of Ft. Myers, FL; grandchildren, Big Cole (Christine), Little Cole, Austin, Alex, Dylan, Kendell, Jon, Mitch and Tommy. A private family memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home on Thursday, July 16, 2020. Following the service, at 12:30 p.m., the family will host a visitation for family and friends to attend at the home of Adam and Aron Jenkins, 173 Lagg Road, Leesburg, GA 31763. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael Byrd Endowed Scholarship Fund at 4975 Highway 51 North, NWCC Box 7015, Senatobia, MS 38668.
