Mrs. Janey L. Williams, of Albany, GA and Crawfordville, FL passed away on Wednesday February 8, 2023, in Albany.
Mrs. Williams will be laid to rest by her beloved husband at Floral Memory Gardens with a private graveside service for family only.
Janey was born November 30, 1945, in Dothan, AL to the late Troy B. Douglas and Madeline H. Douglas. She was a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church and worked for many years as a hairdresser. Janey was a talented horticulturist who was known for her love of gardening and flowers. Above all, she adored her family. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include her children, Kellie Nix (Ross) of Leesburg and Stephanie Williams of Leesburg; grandchildren, Maggie Brown (Jamie) and Chandler Nix all of Leesburg; great grandson, Harper Brown of Leesburg; and her siblings, Doug Douglas of Albany, Sarah Hall (Jim) of Baconton, Libby Merritt (Charlie) of Albany, Barbara Jernigan (Bill) of Appling, and Sadie Arnold of Augusta.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David R. Williams; and brothers, Troy Zane, Steven Tracey Douglas, and James Troyce Douglas.
God saw you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around her and whispered, "Come with me." With tearful eyes we watched her suffer and saw her fade away. Although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating. Hard working hands put to rest; God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best. "WE LOVE YOU MIMI."
