Jamie John Ogiba

Mr. Jamie John Ogiba, 49, of Leesburg, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Pastor Justin Friar will officiate.

Born May 8, 1974, in New York, he was the son of Mr. Joseph Ogiba and Mrs. Carol Foster Ogiba. Jamie was currently employed with Waffle House where he enjoyed his job as a division manager. He had a strong work ethic and put his heart into everything he did. He loved his wife dearly and was especially proud of his son Ethan. In his free time, he loved doing cross fit and staying involved in different church activities. Jamie was a huge advocate for Autism awareness. His family attended Grace City Church of Leesburg and he was a member of The Albany Exchange Club. A beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Ogiba.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Elsy Ogiba of Leesburg; son, Ethan Ogiba of Leesburg; mother, Carol Ogiba of Tampa, FL; two brothers, James Ogiba (Lila) of Maryland and Joe Ogiba (Susan) of Missouri; sister, Jodie Foreman (Adam) of Michigan; mother-in-law, Praxedes Baez of Miami, FL; brothers-in-law, Richard Baez (Mencia) and Anthony Baez (Nancy) all of Miami, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
