James M. Faust

Mr. James M. Faust, 82, of Dawson, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home, 375 US Hwy 19 S. Leesburg, GA 31763. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2022, in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson with Rev. Richard Gill officiating. Born November 28, 1939, in Webster County, Mr. Faust was the son of the late Madison and Lola Merle Ostean Faust. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. He later went to work for Foster Tractor Company and retired from John Deere. He was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Dawson where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family whom he adored. Mr. Faust “loved big” and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be greatly missed by all. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his son, James M. “Jim” Faust; brother Larry Faust; and grandson Trent Walker. Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 60 years, Joan Faust of Dawson; daughter, Denise Faust Hamrick of Indian Trail, NC; daughter in law, Valerie Faust of Dawson; 6 grandchildren, Monica Privette (Chris), Christin Ridings (Daniel), Corey Faust (Leah), Jeffery Hamrick (Leslie), Dustin Moore, and Lainey Faust, and 10 great grandchildren. Flowers will be accepted, or contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church 1787 Americus Hwy, Dawson, GA 39842 or to Phoebe Hospice 320 Foundation Rd, Albany, GA 31707 in memory of Mr. Faust.
