James Henry Vick, Jr.

Mr. James Henry Vick, Jr., 78, of Leesburg, passed away on Thursday evening, November 11, 2021, at Phoebe North. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 15, 2021, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home in Leesburg. His son-in-law, Mike Harris will officiate. All parole and police officers are invited to be seated together during the service. The family will visit with friends following the service. Born May 15, 1943, in Fort Myers, Florida, Mr. Vick was the son of the late James Henry Vick, Sr. and Cleopatra Leah Greene Vick. He faithfully served his country in The United States Army and retired from the state of Georgia as a chief parole officer. Mr. Vick loved The Lord and had served as a Deacon for several years and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed reading, was full of knowledge, enjoyed cruising, camping, and riding his motorcycle. Attending the Pioneer Festival at Chehaw was one of his favorite functions. His favorite scripture was John 3:16, For God so love the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Most of all he loved Jesus and his family, and he will be greatly missed. Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Lisa Hart Vick of Leesburg; children, James Henry “Hank” Vick, III. and Stacey of Leesburg, and Kelly Harris and Mike of Leesburg; 2 brothers, Robert Vick and Jean of Florida, and Jerry Vick and Delores of South Carolina; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Nikki, Zack and Bobbie, Bryan and Emily, Matt, Payton, and Tristan; 1 great-granddaughter, Kinsley and 1 on the way. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's, the Lee County Sheriff Office, or Leesburg Police Department in memory of Mr. Vick.
