Irene Peggy Smith

Mrs. Irene Peggy Smith, 88, of Cullman Alabama, passed away on September 8, 2017 at Woodland Village Health Care. She was born on August 16, 1929 in Phenix City Alabama to Henry Daniel and Mary Bell Whatley Jackson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Smith, parents, 3 sisters, 4 brothers and grandchildren, Bre Dickerson, Ryan Smith and Aron Smith. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Cavalry Baptist Church in Leslie, GA at 2:00 p.m. Rev. William Hall will officiate with interment to follow in the Leesburg Cemetery. Survivors include her daughter, Susie (Lamar) Dickerson; sons, Jimmy Wyatt Smith, Charles (Mary Alice) Smith, Michael (Nina) Smith, Marty (Barbara) Smith and Dennis (Deborah) Smith; 15 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday before the service. Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home of Leesburg is in charge of local arrangements.
