Hazel Kathrine Humphries

Mrs. Hazel Kathrine Humphries, 97, of LaGrange, passed away peacefully, early Tuesday morning, October 30, 2018 at West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2018 in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home of Leesburg. Jimmy Fields and Warren Humphries will officiate. Mrs. Humphries will be laid to rest at 4:30 p.m., at Mizpah Cemetery in Grady County. Born July 17, 1921 in Pelham, Mrs. Humphries was the daughter of the late John and Betty Nesmith Adams. She was a devout Christian who loved the word and loved people. She taught Sunday school for over 50 years and enjoyed singing in church. Mrs. Humphries was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Humphries was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mercer Humphries, son, Allen Mercer Humphries and son-in-law, Wayne Adams. Survivors include her children, Melba Adams and Willard Humphries and his wife, Brenda Penny Humphries; grandchildren, Jeff Adams (Angel), Aaron Tidwell (Kenny), Shannen Fields (Jimmy) and Melanie Cothren (Mike); 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
