Gloria Jean Burns

Mrs. Gloria Jean Burns, 63, of Leesburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 29, 2018 in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home, 375 US Hwy 19 S. Leesburg, GA 31763. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service. Born October 11, 1954 in Albany, Mrs. Burns was the daughter of the late Edward and Eula Butts Pearson. She was a loving homemaker who enjoyed cooking and would do anything she could to help others. She also enjoyed fishing and dearly loved her little dog. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burns was also preceded in death by her daughter, Wendy Carlson and sister, Beverly Starling. Survivors include her husband, Johnny Burns of Leesburg; children, Tracy Carlson and Rusty Carter both of Leesburg and Tonya Carter of Albany; sisters, Marie Davis of Warner Robins, Elise Glass of Leesburg and Cathy Williams of Hoboken; brother, Randy Pearson of Warner Robins and her three grandchildren she adored, Elijah, Alana and Ny’Breanna.
