Gerald Mullis

Mr. Gerald Mitchell Mullis, Sr., 79, of Leesburg, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at his home. Services honoring the life of Mr. Mullis will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home, 375 US Highway 19 S. Leesburg, GA. 31763. Rev. Bob Prince will officiate. Born March 18, 1937 in Abbeville, GA, Mr. Mullis was the son of the late Theodore and Lizzie Mae Whitman Mullis. He worked for Georgia Pacific for many years, enjoyed the simple things of life as he cared for his birds and liked to fish. More than anything he loved spending time with his beloved family. Survivors include his children, Perry and Barbara Mullis, Rhonda and Russell Cox, Gerald “Mitchell” Mullis, Jr. and Christopher Mullis all of Leesburg and Montine MacDonald of Hampton; brothers, Billy and Janice Mullis of Leesburg and Ed Mullis of Bonaire; sisters, Frances Mullis Danzer and Fay Mullis Sines both of Warner Robins; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family will be at the home of Michael Mullis at 135 Travis Lane Leesburg, GA. 31763 and will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
