Gary Garrell Floyd

Mr. Gary Garrell Floyd, 82, of Leesburg, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, September 23, 2017 in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home, 375 US Highway 19 S. Leesburg, GA 31763. Bro. Mark Peak will officiate with military honors to be presented. The family will visit with friends following the service. Born November 10, 1934 in Eastman, Mr. Floyd was the son of the late, Doris Carroll Floyd and Myrtle Coleman Floyd. He served his country in the Air Force and worked as an electrician most of his life. He enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and shooting pool. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed the outdoors. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Weir Floyd and children, Gary Garrell Floyd, Jr. and Ronald Stephen Floyd. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Tamrya and George Moore of Leesburg; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Floyd and Vaunelle of Alma; 3 grandchildren, Josh Swain, Crystal Swain Eavenson and Dustin Floyd; 4 great-grandchildren, Calea, Rhylea, Coda and Remington; several nieces and nephews.
