Mr. Emmett Carlton Israel, 80, of Leesburg, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 in Pelion, SC. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017 in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home, 375 US Highway 19 S. Leesburg, GA 31763. Rev. Johnny White will officiate with interment to follow in the Leesburg Cemetery. Born June 24, 1937 in Albany, GA, Mr. Israel was the son of the late Travis B. Israel and Sarah Long Israel. He served his country in the United States Air Force and retired from Dixie Oil Company as a manager. He loved racing and spending time with his beloved family. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his children, Brenda Israel White and husband, Rev. Johnny White of Leesburg, Carlton Israel and wife, Cindy of Leesburg, Connie Israel Walls and husband Vernon Walls of Leesburg and Troy Israel and wife, Pam of Pelion, SC; three brothers, Travis Israel, Buddy Israel and Anna and Wayne and Carolyn Israel; sister, Jenny Boatwright; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
