Eleanora Mae West

January 29, 1941 — September 19, 2019

Ms. Eleanora Mae West, 78, of Leesburg, passed away on the evening of Thursday, September 19, 2019, at Lee County Health & Rehab. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the Leesburg Cemetery with Pastor Melvin Slappy officiating. Ms. West was born January 29, 1941, in Wayne County, West Virginia to the late David Berry and Ada Mae Mullens. She worked as a nursing assistant for over 16 years at the State Hospital in West Virginia caring for others. In her free time she enjoyed knitting, making sure she never missed an episode of Days of Our Lives, and playing bingo any chance she got. Ms. West was a faithful member of Kinchafoonee Creek Baptist Church. She loved the Lord, her children, and grandchildren, and will be greatly missed by all. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harlan West; and her son, Henry E. “Eddie” Sexton. Survivors include her two sons, Jeffrey Sexton (Belinda) and Brian West (Sally); five step-children, Debbie, Penny, Terry, Jeff, and Chris; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
