Ed Thomas Fulford, Jr.

Mr. Ed Thomas Fulford, Jr., 79, of Albany, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 PM on Friday, January 20, 2023, in the Leesburg Cemetery with Brother Scott Price officiating.

Born February 25, 1943, Mr. Fulford was the son of the late Ed Thomas Fulford Sr. and Donna Lee Newton Fulford. He proudly served our country in the National Guard and went on to attend Georgia Tech and eventually obtained his bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southwestern State University. Mr. Fulford was a proud eagle scout and even accepted his first job because of his history as an eagle scout. He worked for many years as a farm equipment sales representative but in his free time could be found outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing tennis, and was especially active in his younger years. A member of First Baptist Church of Dawson, Mr. Fulford was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his fiancé, Bernice Drew.

Survivors include his son, Trey Fulford (Kimberly) of Leesburg; stepson, Ricky Drew of Leesburg; grandchildren, Abby Fulford and Becca Fulford of Leesburg; sister, Gail Rutland of KY; and a host of extended family and friends that loved him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lee County Animal Shelter.
