Dorothy Yates Peak Mcconnell

Mrs. Dorothy Yates Peak McConnell, 85, of Albany, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at Wynfield Park Health and Rehab. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 30, 2017 at Floral Memory Gardens. Rev. Ken Chancellor will officiate and the family will receive friends following the service. Born November 6, 1931 in Colquitt County, Mrs. McConnell was the daughter of the late Andrew and Rosie L. Clark. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and was a spirited person who enjoyed picking at everyone so that they would never forget her. She worked for several years with her late daughter, Susan Yates Thorne at Leesburg Flower and gifts. She loved the Lord, her family and southern gospel music. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ferrell and Carmen Yates of Andersonville; son-in-law, Charlie Thorne of Leesburg; grandchildren, Stella Brantley of Cummings, Brittany Thorne of Leesburg Sawyer Thorne of Roswell and Gary Yates of the North Georgia Mountains and special friend, Christian Whitehouse.
