Doris B. Goode

Miss Doris Billie Goode of Albany went to be with Jesus on Saturday, January 21, 2017. She would have been 93 years old on March 15, 2017. She was a resident of Seymour Southern Comforts home of Bronwood, GA. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., at Bronwood Cemetery. Reverend W. A. Bingham will be officiating. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Wade Goode, sisters, Phyllis and Audrey of Bronwood, GA and Vera (Morrell) Hall of Athens, GA, niece, Susan Hall, nephew, Randy Hall and nephew, who was like a son to her, Chuck Smith of Albany, GA. Miss Goode graduated from Bronwood High School, received her degree from the University of Georgia and her Master’s degree from the University of Alabama. She was employed by Bob Jones University and the Fulton County School system. She has resided in Albany since 1992. She dedicated her life to the service of her Lord and Savior. She served in many capacities for the church as well as her local community. She was of the Pentecostal faith. Miss Goode was a volunteer a Palmyra Park for several years and continually visited those in the nursing homes. She was a great supporter of many mission organizations through her life, very dedicated to sharing the gospel. She was an excellent cook and she loved geraniums. Her gentle, quiet, kind spirit will be greatly missed by many who loved her. She is survived by her sisters, Wadene G. Smith of Albany, GA and Nell Etheridge of Hoschton, GA; nieces, Bea Etheridge of Auburn, GA, and Mauri Smith of Woodstock, GA; nephews, Mel (Judy) Hall, Don Etheridge and Wade (Anita) Etheridge of Brazelton, GA, Scott (Betty) Smith of Cincinnati, OH.
