Donald “Rene” Lee Hayes, 60, of Leesburg, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at home. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, July 5, 2021, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home. Please dress comfortably and prepare to share your favorite and funny memories of Don. Born September 7, 1960, in Beaufort, SC, Rene was always the life of the party and found it easy to make new friends. He was a lover of animals and had two dogs Rambo and Cyrus who were dear to his heart. He was known by many names including, Rene, Big Don, Yeller Feller and Duck. He worked at the Marine Corps Logistics Base as a heavy equipment inspector. A beloved father and friend Rene will be greatly missed by all. Rene was preceded in death by his father, David Wayne Hayes, Sr. Survivors include his mother, Carolynn Hayes of Lake Blackshear; children, Kirstin Christ and Andrew of Palm Harbor, FL, Lauren Hayes and Tony of Palmetto, FL, and Jonathan Hayes of Chesapeake, VA; siblings, David Hayes, Jr. and Donna of Leesburg, Danny Ray Hayes and Rhonda of Lake Blackshear, and Beckey Albritton and John of Lake Blackshear; grandchildren, Kyley, Kasey, Abbey, Owen, and Rayah.
