Donald Kenneth Taylor

September 4, 1939 — May 26, 2022

Mr. Donald Kenneth Taylor, age 82, of Leesburg, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, May 26, 2022. A memorial service honoring his life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 30, 2022, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with his son, Rev. Born September 4, 1939, in Colquitt County, he was the son of the late Addie Lee and Ollie Mae Taylor. He proudly served our country in the United States Army Reserves and later retired civil service from the Marine Base in Albany. Mr. Taylor was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Leesburg where he served as a deacon, a choir member, a Sunday school teacher, and even drove the church bus to pick up kids for church when his children were young. He was a hard worker that provided for his family monetarily, spiritually, emotionally, and was happily married for over 57 years to his wife whom he raised three wonderful children with. He loved and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren, enjoyed watching westerns, and loved antiques. Mr. Taylor wasn’t rich or famous, he didn’t travel the world, but he knew Jesus. The best part about him was that he shared Jesus with everyone. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he will be greatly missed by all but his family has peace in knowing he has reached his final destination…..Heaven. Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 57 years, Linda Futral Taylor of Leesburg; children, Ken Taylor (Wendy) of Leesburg, Dennis Taylor (Laura) of Titusville, FL, and Sherry Turoski (Bill) of Leesburg; seven grandchildren, Ashley Meddings (Greg), Kyle Taylor, Carsen Taylor, Mackenzie Taylor, Taylor Turoski, Emma Turoski, and Nessa Taylor; his two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Ava; and a host of extended family and friends that loved him dearly.
