Danny Ray Swain, Sr.

Mr. Danny Ray Swain, Sr., 68, of Albany, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at his home while surrounded by his family.

The service honoring his life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2025, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Chuck Smith will officiate.

Born on February 1, 1957, in Tifton, Danny was the son of the late Hubert and Eunice Salter Swain. He worked for 15 years with Carlton Company of Albany where he started at the bottom and worked his way up and became the used equipment sales manager. He then opened the family business Swain Equipment of Albany in 1991 where he would spend the rest of his days servicing Southwest Georgia. Danny loved the outdoors and spending time with his family on his property where time around the fishing pond was dear to him. He was of the Baptist faith and will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Ray Swain and Jamie of Leesburg, and Lance Swain of Elmodel; his siblings, Steve Swain and Janice of Franklin, NC, Mary Moore and Ron of Elijay, Rick Swain and Gail of Reynolds, and Joey Swain and Julie of Albany; 2 grandchildren, Dozier Swain, and Addler Swain; and several nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Swain.
