Daniel Castellanos

Mr. Daniel Castellanos, 49, of Leesburg, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021, at Phoebe North, after a 44-day hard fought battle with COVID-19. Born December 17, 1971, in Veracruz, Mexico, Daniel became a proud citizen of America in 2015. He lived his life to the fullest and was always doing all he could to help others. He considered his ministry to be the times he could help the Hispanic community get to their doctor’s appointments and interpreting for them. He was a devoted soccer coach in Lee County for years and took up much time with his players to encourage them to do their best. Soccer was his true love and he also was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. In November of 2015 he was in a hunting accident that left him in a wheelchair, but Daniel refused to allow this to keep him from coaching and hunting. His love for God, his family and his soccer family will be missed, but will continue to live on in the countless lives he touched. He was a faithful member of The Vine at Leesburg where he was very active in ministry. Survivors include his loving wife, Sherri Lynn Vance Castellanos of Leesburg; his children, Isabella, Nicholas, and Yesenia; his father and mother, Honorio and Victoria Toledo Castellanos; granddaughter, Sofia; 6 sisters; 1 brother and his father and mother-in-love, David and Charlotte Vance of Leesburg. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home, 375 US Highway 19 South Leesburg, GA 31763. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 12, 2021, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with Pastor Jamie Bagget officiating.
