Charles Scott Gunn

Mr. Charles Scott Gunn, 82, of Leesburg, peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at his home while surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning, July 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., in the Leesburg Cemetery with Bro. Scott Price officiating.

Born on July 16, 1941, in Sumner, GA, Mr. Gunn was the son of the late James W. Gunn and Corrie Hufstetler Gunn. Charles graduated from Sylvester High School and served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He was co-owner of Southwest Plaster and Dry Wall of Albany, owned Gunn Plastering and Drywall, Inc., and The Gunn Company Inc. After his time of owning his own companies, he was chief estimator for Lovett and Associates Inc. Family was most important to Charles and he enjoyed times with them at the beach, by the pool, and any time they were together. He enjoyed gardening, golf and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gunn was preceded in death by his siblings, Edna, Myrtice, Earl, S.G., Gene, and Sue.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Charlene Gunn of Leesburg; children, Heather Peterson and Eric of Fayetteville, Jason Gunn and Michelle of Mableton, and Trey Fulford and Kimberly of Leesburg; 7 grandchildren, Hayden, Sarah, Becca, Abby, Vivien, Wallace and Kobie; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
