Cecellia Mathis Lyon

Mrs. Cecellia “CeCe” M. Clements Lyon, 69, of Leesburg, passed away peacefully after a six year battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m, Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Leesburg United Methodist Church. Rev. Lee Smith, Rev. Mike Lyons and Rev. Kent Mathis will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Leesburg Cemetery following the service. Born April 19, 1949 in Eufaula, AL, Mrs. Lyon retried from The Marine Corps Logistics Base of Albany as a financial administrator. She served as president of The American Society of Military Comptrollers, enjoyed reading, playing piano and traveling. Mrs. Lyon was a faithful member of Leesburg United Methodist Church where she served as the misson’s chairman. Serving God and others was always her hearts desire and she will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Alton P. Mathis. Survivors include her husband, Charles Lyon of Leesburg; her mother, Burah Baxley Wilbourn of Columbus; children, Lorie Everson of Warner Robins, Lisa Clements, David (Kristen) Clements; step-children, Teresa (Darin) Erickson and Greg Lyon all of Leesburg; sisters, Kim LaBel of Maryland, and Kay Daniels of Columbus; brothers, Kent (Melissa) Mathis of Cordova, TN and Steven Mathis of Leesburg and 10 grandchildren, Cody and Austin (Leonora) Everson, Chelsey, Ezekial and Miley Clements, Carson and Bryson Clements, Brandon and Dylan Erickson and Landon Lyon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 p.m., Wednesday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leesburg United Methodist Church Sanctuary Fund, MD Anderson, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Joseph W.
