Mrs. Carlene “Gale” Dacalio, 65, of Dawson, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025.
Services honoring her life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, in the chapel of Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home with her sister Elaine officiating.
Born on June 11, 1959, in England she was the daughter of Carlton Roberts and Janice Hunt Wooley. She proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps where she met her beloved husband, Jason. She later became a registered nurse and spent many years in the medical field caring for others. Most recently she was employed with Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus. In her free time, she loved to cook. Gale had a love for animals and had a special place in her heart for her 4 dogs. She was a tomboy at heart and enjoyed all things nature. A loving wife, daughter, mother, “Memaw”, and friend, she will be greatly missed by all.
She was reunited in heaven with her brothers, Ross Wooley, James Wooley, and Jerry Roberts; and her grandpa and grandma Hunt.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jason Dacalio; children, Deborah Justice, Kimo Dacalio, and David Dacalio and his wife Sendy; grandchildren, Madison Justice, Savannah Justice, Kai Dacalio, and Gabrielle Dacalio; mother, Janice Wooley; siblings, Elaine Roberts and Chris Wooley; and a host of extended family members and friends.
