Billy Ray Deal

Mr. Billy Ray Deal, 73, of Albany passed away at his home on Monday, December 4, 2023.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023, in the Bethel Cemetery in Terrell County with Minister Faron Hamner officiating. Following the service the family will visit with friends at 12:30 p.m., at Dawson Road Church of Christ.

Born April 10, 1950, in Terrell County, Billy was the son of the late ZR and Mae B. Deal. He lived most of his life in Terrell County until moving to Albany. He worked in management with Merts for years in the concrete industry and also enjoyed working with Lowes, and Devoe Paints. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his beloved family, especially his grandkids. Billy attended Dawson Road Church of Christ and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Deal was preceded in death by his son, Brian R. Deal; brothers, Robert F. Mobley, and Thurmond Jernigan; and his nephews, John M. Stokes, CJ Hatfield, and Timothy Reese.

Survivors include his love, Charlotte Craddock of Albany; daughters, Summer Craddock-Prest, and Erika Baumgartel; grandchildren, Noah Deal, Will Johnson, Rushton Prest, Campbell Prest, Alex Baumgartel, and Evan Baumgartel; sisters, Gloria D. Milner, Carolyn D. Penny, and Dorothy (Charles) Bruce all of Terrell County; nieces, Sherry (Darrell) Greene, Doni Cox, Suzanne (Terry) Hooks, Teresa Byrd, and Tina (Brandon) Edgar; nephew, Trey Penny; and sister-in-law, Edna Jernigan.
